Swell words from Jim Elliot. So, I decided to put something from one of my personal heroes, his wife Elisabeth. I'm not given to blasphemy, so I hope what I write next does not constitute blasphemy. However, I like to believe that had Jim and Elisabeth Elliot lived during "Bible times," they might well have ended up in Hebrews among the faithful. Read this:
"The Bible does not explain everything necessary for our intellectual satisfaction,but it explains everything necessary for our obedience and hence for God's satisfaction." I have that problem sometimes of wanting to know why. But, the fact is, I don't always need to know why! It's not about satisfying ME, it's ALL ABOUT HIM! I have a feeling I'm not alone in this! And, have you not read Jim's biography or Elisabeth's bio and works? If not, well, in a few words--DO IT!
That's it for now because I'm finding that my eyelids are droopy and therefore I need to rest. I used to wake up at about 10am...and for some reason my schedule changed and I awake at 6:30am each day. Weird. Oh well, doesn't the famous "Proverbs 31" woman wake up early and lie down late? I do so want to be like that woman!
So. That's it--I will go to sleep now listening to "Delilah" on the internet. Good 'ole fashioned love songs, in English!
