-2000

I'm back with the decades! Let's see, I'll actually start with 1991...since I ended with 1990.

I turned 21. I also worked in the famous Shultz Dining Hall at Va Tech, washing dishes and eventually getting promoted to "server," where people actually see your face!

Joshua, my second nephew, was born in September. He's 14 now--I think he has birthdays just to remind me that I'm not getting any younger! I also started taking my life with Christ seriously. Thanks, Judy!

I graduate from Va Tech with a B.A. in English, with 6 outstanding credits for a B.A. in Spanish and an "almost-minor" in Sociology. (I wanted to graduate!!!)

Not knowing what to do with life, I started my MAEd. at VT. Perhaps teaching would be the career of choice. I also officially became a "Subway Sandwich Artist." And, two more nephews--Joseph and Brett--were born this year.

My first summer working at Camp Little Cross Roads--one of the best jobs I have had in life. I also took my first trip to Mexico, to spend a week in Pachuca.

Shaaron! We became instant forever friends at camp--riding a golf cart down a steep hill, coming to a screeching halt. (Shaaron's first attempt!) I also spent two weeks in Pachuca.

I worked for the Montgomery County School System, being based in Blacksburg, VA, at Margaret Beeks Elementary, right next door to my old house in Blacksburg!

I worked at Blacksburg Christian School, teaching 7th and 8th graders and learning a ton about life. I also started thinking that perhaps God was going to finally let me move to another country. Zachary, my 5th nephew makes his debut in November.

I applied to work with the International Mission Board, SBC, and left for Mexico City on September 11, 1999. Benjamin and Bradley were born this year, making the nephew count 7.

 Next time...
